Morning Hike, Rio Hozgarganta in Jimena de la Frontera

This is a circular route that runs along the left bank of the Rio Hozgarganta. The trail can be picked up in three different spots: (1) just up the hill from the campsite, (2) in the middle part of town (signs point the way), or (3) at the base of the mountain entrance into town (just past the grocery market, signs point the way).

This is a fun hike. Quick and easy, gorgeous scenery, historic sites. If you are climbing down from the town centre, take care that you will be climbing back up. In the summer, this can be scorching hot. Take plenty of water. Try to start your hike early in the morning, or later in the evening.

The trail has numerous signs with trails or historical information.
